Herdis Herdiansyah is the chairman of the Social Environment Cluster (Cluster Interaction, Community Engagement, and Social Environment) of School of Environmental Science Universitas Indonesia. Written over 100 articles, Herdiansyah is also one of the most productive researchers. In 2020 he received 30 research grants as chairman and member with various schemes in social sciences including international funding schemes. Herdiansyah has been a lecturer for Environmental Ethics and Philosophy, System of Human Life and The Environment, Writing Scientific Paper, and Basic Principles of Environmental Science in the School of Environmental Science and Faculty of Economics and Businesss Universitas Indonesia. Herdiansyah is the chief editor of two journals: ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement (Under ASEAN University Network, Universitas Indonesia, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) and the Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development (School of Environmental Science, Universitas Indonesia); both of which he initiated. Herdiansyah actively manages seminars and joint research among universities in Indonesia and international collaboration such as Germany, Japan and others. Herdiansyah has a BA and MA in Philosophy before he earned his doctorate in Environmental Science. His thesis was of social conflict and community engagement in natural resources. Adinda Afifah Damayanti is an active student of the Undergraduate Journalism Study Program, Faculty of Communication, Padjajaran University. Adinda is a busy person in organizations on campus; she also serves as general secretary at the association and head of divisions at the Da'wah Institute of the Faculty of Communication Sciences. During high school, Adinda produced a scientific paper on the Israeli and Palestinian conflict as one of the requirements for graduation at the high school. Adinda has an interest in social and environmental communication. He has expertise in journalism, administration and visual communication design.

Ankiet D. Lelono holds a BSc in Sociology and an MSc in Environmental Science both from Universitas Indonesia. Since 2013, Lelono has been working as a researcher for a consulting firm in developmental issues, particularly in education initiatives implemented by the Government of Indonesia in partnership with international organizations such as ADB and UNESCO. Prior to being an assistant lecturer for two courses in School of Environmental Science Universitas Indonesia, she tutored senior high school students during her bachelor years. Her interests in behavioral shift particularly in transportation and nature conservation are detailed in her thesis and articles. Lelono believes that conservation of nature and sustainability as practiced by indigenous people, together with the advancement of technology, are applicable in wider contexts through sound robust policies.

Azhar Firdaus is a doctoral candidate at the SoES UI. He has a bachelor’s degree in Da’wah Communication (S.Sos) and a master’s degree (M.Si) in Environmental Science and is working on his thesis of disaster and local wisdom. Firdaus has been managing ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement of SoES UI since 2017 after working as an editorial secretary for Journal Kommunity of Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullahi Jakarta in 2013-2017 wherein he developed community based programs. He also has experience as a lecture assistant in Human Ecology in UIN and as an academic staff in SoES UI. In addition, he was hired as an expert for a program of the Indonesian Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration. Firdaus helped develop the appropriate program to lift the underdeveloped areas in Indonesia from poverty.

Arty Dwi Januari has a bachelor’s degree of Biology from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and a master’s degree from the School of Environmental Science, both from Universitas Indonesia. Her bachelor’s thesis was molecular biology while her master’s thesis is concerning waste management of palm oil industry. In recent years, Arty Dwi Januari has been concentrating more on the oil palm theme. Arty has interests in industrial, social, economic and environmental fields.
