As a former student of international relation study, he focuses his interest on the influence of international context against the making of public policy. Now pursing master degree at the School of Environmental Science University of Indonesia, he focuses his interest in sustainable development and its relations to local culture. I am Alfonsus H Harianja, a researcher in the Research and Development Center for Environmental Quality and Laboratory in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. As a civil servant, my professional responsibilities is to design, conduct, report and publish research in environmental science to provide best practice in managing and improving environmental quality. We are focusing our research in broad challenging environmental quality issues especially in the socio-economic aspects such as plastic pollution, mercury exposure, water quality and management and pollution of heavy metal in the environment. Holding an agricultural economics bachelor degree in 1998 and forestry management master degree in 2014, I continued my doctoral study in School of Environment, University of Indonesia since 2019. I chose this program due to my awareness that the environment problem is an inter-related issue, should be approached by interdisciplinary science.
